Quick Answer
India and the West Indies play 8 matches in India from 27 September to 17 October 2026, which is 3 ODIs followed by 5 T20Is. Shubman Gill captains India in the ODIs, Shreyas Iyer leads the T20Is, and Shai Hope captains the West Indies in both. For viewers in the USA, the ODIs start around 4:30am Eastern and the T20Is around 9:30am Eastern, so the T20 matches are the easier ones to watch live.
The full schedule with US start times
India announced the tour in March 2026 as part of its 2026-27 home season. The West Indies squad left the Caribbean on 21 September and arrived in Trivandrum two days later.
All eight dates and venues are confirmed. Times below are converted from India Standard Time into the four main US time zones.
| Match | Date | Venue | India time | Eastern | Central | Pacific |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1st ODI | 27 Sep 2026 | Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram | 2:00pm | 4:30am | 3:30am | 1:30am |
| 2nd ODI | 30 Sep 2026 | Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati | 2:00pm | 4:30am | 3:30am | 1:30am |
| 3rd ODI | 3 Oct 2026 | Maharaja Yadavindra International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur | 2:00pm | 4:30am | 3:30am | 1:30am |
| 1st T20I | 6 Oct 2026 | Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow | 7:00pm | 9:30am | 8:30am | 6:30am |
| 2nd T20I | 9 Oct 2026 | JSCA International Stadium, Ranchi | 7:00pm | 9:30am | 8:30am | 6:30am |
| 3rd T20I | 11 Oct 2026 | Holkar Stadium, Indore | 7:00pm | 9:30am | 8:30am | 6:30am |
| 4th T20I | 14 Oct 2026 | Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad | 7:00pm | 9:30am | 8:30am | 6:30am |
| 5th T20I | 17 Oct 2026 | M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru | 7:00pm | 9:30am | 8:30am | 6:30am |
Be realistic about the ODIs. A 50-over match starting at 4:30am Eastern runs until roughly 11:00am. If you want to watch it live, the second innings beginning around 8:00am Eastern is the part most people stay up for, or you can catch the replay later in the day. The T20Is are much friendlier. A 9:30am Eastern start on a weekday is manageable, and the whole match is over in about three hours.
Important
The two legs are played for very different reasons. The three ODIs are a preparation block for the 2027 Cricket World Cup, so they matter most for India’s longer-term build. The five T20Is are a separate competition with its own points table and its own captain on both sides, and India field a partly different team for them. Do not read the ODI results as a preview of the T20Is.
Where to watch in the USA
Willow TV carries this series in the United States and Canada. It lists the West Indies tour of India among its upcoming international series, and the tour is available on its platform on a paid subscription. Willow is the long-running home of cricket in North America, so it is a separate channel, not a free stream.
Cricket West Indies published an official promo for the tour on 19 September 2026, a few days before the first match.
Check the fixture list shortly before each match, because start times can shift if a game is shortened by rain or moved to a reserve day.

The squads
India, ODI leg
Shubman Gill captains, with KL Rahul as his vice-captain. The batting group includes Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Ruturaj Gaikwad. Dhruv Jurel and Rahul keep wicket. Ravindra Jadeja returns to the squad for the first time since January 2026, and the bowling attack is led by Kuldeep Yadav, Prasidh Krishna, and Mohammed Siraj.
Two players received maiden ODI call-ups. Naman Dhir made his debut in the first match, and Auqib Nabi is also new to the format.
India are managing their squad carefully. Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Iyer, and Ishan Kishan are all in India’s Asian Games squad and miss the ODIs, and Hardik Pandya is not yet fully fit. Because of that, Nitish Kumar Reddy was pulled out of the Asian Games squad to play in this series.
India, T20I leg
Shreyas Iyer takes over the captaincy, with Tilak Varma as vice-captain. Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson keep wicket, and the batting also includes Abhishek Sharma, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, and Shivam Dube. The spin group is Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, and Ravi Bishnoi, with Arshdeep Singh, Prince Yadav, and Mayank Yadav in the pace attack. Bumrah is again unavailable because of the Asian Games.
West Indies, ODI leg
Shai Hope captains and keeps wicket. The top order is John Campbell, Keacy Carty, and Justin Greaves, with Sherfane Rutherford and Roston Chase also in the squad. The bowlers include Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Matthew Forde, Gudakesh Motie, and Jayden Seales.
Shimron Hetmyer has been rested for the one-day games and is back for the T20Is. Ackeem Auguste is recovering from surgery he had in August. John Campbell returns after a hamstring injury, and Jewel Andrew is recalled after last appearing in the format in June 2025.
West Indies, T20I leg
Hope leads again. The squad brings back Shimron Hetmyer and adds the experienced Kamil Pooran and Rovman Powell at the top of the order, with Akeal Hosein, Romario Shepherd, and Quentin Sampson also named.
Why this series matters for 2027
India treat the three ODIs as the start of their preparation for the 2027 Cricket World Cup, which is why the squad is being rotated around the Asian Games and why several changes are being tested.
For the West Indies, the stakes are more immediate. They are building toward the qualification pathway for the same World Cup, so this tour is part of a longer rebuilding plan rather than a standalone event.
There is a useful history lesson too. This is the West Indies’ first one-day series on Indian soil since February 2022, when India won all three matches. The West Indies have not won a one-day series in India since 2006. India have not lost a bilateral one-day series against the West Indies in 13 series, home or away.

Players to watch
Shai Hope is the West Indies captain and their most important batter, and he is also the player to know if you only follow one name. He has scored at this level for years and is closing in on more one-day appearances than almost anyone still playing.
Virat Kohli returns to ODI cricket for this series and started with 139 not out. He said beforehand that the 2027 World Cup would be his last for India, so this tour sits inside a short window.
Shubman Gill is captain for the ODIs and scored 110 in the opener, the only completed match so far.
The captains named the squads and confirmed the full tour details in an official Cricket West Indies announcement covering the squads and fixtures.
